If you've ever felt the urge to walk through a place covered with rats, then the Karni Mata Rat Temple is the place for you! This temple is found in Deshnok, India in the state of Rajasthan.

These aren't just any rats, these are holy rats. These rats are considered to be the reincarnations of the male members of the Charan caste and descendants of the goddess Karni Mata.

If you are lucky enough to visit this temple, it is considered good luck for a rat to walk across your feet. We should clarify that by feet, we mean bare feet, as you are not allowed to wear shoes into the temple. We were EXTREMELY lucky as we had them walking across our feet and even had them crawl up on our laps.

Just to be clear, the sacred rats are only found inside the temple itself. If you decide to sit down with rats outside the temple, then those are just plain old rats and that's just weird!
